Brothers Bike: Riding With Purpose from Alaska to Texas

starting line of bike adventure

The Brothers

We’re Raleigh and Bobby Jenkins—two brothers united by family, faith, and a shared drive to make a difference. Together, we created Brothers Bike to turn long-distance cycling into a vehicle for change.

This year, we’re taking on our biggest challenge yet: a 5,500-mile journey from Anchorage, Alaska to College Station, Texas. But for us, this isn’t just about pushing physical limits—it’s about giving back to causes that matter.

For me, Raleigh, this ride is deeply personal. I’ve been involved in Haiti since the earthquake in 2010, and the children there have stayed close to my heart. So much has gone wrong in Haiti over the years, and the ongoing chaos has made many people lose hope. But I haven’t. I ride to raise awareness, amplify Haitian voices, and remind the world that these children—the future leaders of Haiti—are resilient, worthy, and never forgotten.

Bobby brings that same passion for people and community. As the president and CEO of ABC Home & Commercial Services, Bobby has dedicated his life to service—and Brothers Bike is one more way to extend that mission beyond business and into the world.

We’re not professional cyclists. We’re just two brothers with a love for riding and a bigger love for helping others. And if our journey inspires even one person to get involved, then every mile is worth it.

The Trip

This year’s ride is a full-scale cross country bike ride, taking us from the northern edge of Alaska to the heart of Texas. Spanning over 5,500 miles, this is our most ambitious route yet—covering every kind of terrain and testing us in ways we’ve never experienced before.

We’re traveling through mountains, plains, forests, deserts, and small towns across North America. This cross country bike ride route was chosen not just for its distance, but for the story it tells—linking remote communities with our home base in Texas and connecting people from all walks of life with the causes we care about.

Every part of the journey is mapped with purpose. This is more than just one of our bike rides for charity—it’s a meaningful adventure that shows what’s possible when you combine passion, grit, and heart.

What We Were Trying to Accomplish

Our goal is to turn this charity bike ride into something much larger than a physical feat. We want to raise awareness and funding for two incredible nonprofit partners: the Moss Pieratt Foundation and Mission Lazarus.

At the core of this ride is the belief that small acts—when fueled by purpose—can have massive impact. With every pedal stroke, we’re working toward a clear goal: to bring visibility and financial support to organizations that are making a difference.

We’re also using this platform to help educate people about the goal of charity event campaigns like ours. It’s not just about donations—it’s about storytelling, connection, and community engagement.

Why We’re Doing This

Every mile we ride has meaning. This isn’t just a physical journey for us—it’s a personal and emotional one. We’re riding for two causes that hit close to home and reflect what we believe in at our core: protecting children, empowering communities, and bringing light into dark places.

The Moss Pieratt Foundation

We ride for Moss Pieratt, a vibrant, joyful little boy who unexpectedly passed away at the age of four due to Sudden Unexplained Death in Children (SUDC). Moss was healthy, happy, and thriving. His passing came with no warning, no explanation—and no answers.

Moss’s story is one no family should ever have to live through. And yet, many do. That’s why we support The Moss Pieratt Foundation. They exist to raise awareness of SUDC, fund critical research, and provide emotional and financial support to families who find themselves in the same unimaginable position.

The foundation also honors Moss’s joyful spirit by supporting early childhood education and community projects. We ride to preserve his legacy and to ensure that families affected by SUDC aren’t left searching in the dark.

Mission Lazarus

We also ride for the people of Honduras and Haiti, where Mission Lazarus is doing transformative work.

Mission Lazarus focuses on sustainable change. Their projects span education, healthcare, vocational training, agriculture, and spiritual development. They serve not just immediate needs, but the long-term well-being of individuals and families—building from the ground up, literally and figuratively.

One of the projects closest to our hearts is the Lazarus Refuge, a safe haven for vulnerable girls who have faced abuse or abandonment. There, they find not only safety and shelter, but the tools to heal and grow—emotionally, physically, and spiritually.

We ride because these stories deserve to be told. We ride to bring visibility to work that truly changes lives.
